lyrics

I drew these lines in the sand
arbitrarily.
Cross them and you’ll soon be
begging for mercy.

We drew these lines in the sand
arbitrarily,
centuries ago.
Cross them and we’ll lock you up
and throw away the key.

These sacred lines were drawn in the sand
arbitrarily,
centuries ago,
by foreign conquerors, thieves, murderers—
my ancestors,
my hallowed heroes.
Cross them and you die.

They’re still here today,
so we’ll keep on enforcing them.
Mostly out of convenience.
With violence.
With deadly force,
if necessary.

The line was drawn
arbitrarily.
But it is holy.
Don’t you question it.

Don’t you dare.

My nation,
my superior nation,
may be founded on lies
and built on death.
But what are a few fibs
and drops of blood
compared to our God-given
home?

Don’t cross the line.
Stay on your side.
Your inferior side,
where you were meant to be.

Don’t cross the line.
Stay on your side.
Your inferior side,
where God, and we, said you should be.
